- I apologize that this page is not complete. I had to rush to upload this page in order to establish its presence here before the issue became stale and so that I could refer Bill Morgan to it. I assure you that I am working to complete it and that I will upload upgraded versions as I complete them.
- Bill Morgan has made several serious accusations against me and continues to make even more accusations.
- These accusations are false and without factual basis.
- I see these accusations as direct personal attacks against my character, I consider them to be slanderous, and I have informed Bill Morgan of that fact. I have also informed him that I demand satisfaction and resolution of this matter.
- For five full months (August to December 2000) I have tried to work with Bill Morgan to resolve this issue in private, but Bill has frustrated all our attempts at a peaceful, private resolution.
- Bill Morgan has refused to substantiate these accusations in any way despite a very large number of requests from me that he do so (see below).
- Bill Morgan has refused to provide us with the information that only he possesses and that we need to determine what he is talking about, despite a very large number of requests from me that he do so.
- In order to resolve this matter, it is absolutely necessary for us to examine the facts of the matter, which is to say the actual text of the actual messages that were sent. The transcript of these messages resides at http://chiefwise.tripod.com/morgan/transcript/transcript.html.
- Without that information, which only Bill Morgan possesses, the facts cannot be examined and the resolution of this matter cannot proceed. Therefore, Bill Morgan is unilaterally blocking the resolution of this matter!
- I have consistently insisted that the facts be examined. Bill Morgan has consistently blocked our efforts to have the facts examined. Therefore, it is my interpretation and opinion:
- That Bill Morgan knows full well that his accusations against me are false
- That Bill Morgan knows that our examination of the facts will expose his lies and so at all costs he wants to keep those facts from becoming known
- That Bill Morgan hates and fears the truth
- Bill Morgan's accusations and his continual refusal to substantiate them or to allow us to resolve this matter have greatly increased the level of acrimony in our correspondence and has prevented us from discussing other much more important matters.
- Since this issue has begun (August 2000), I have requested forty-nine (49) times (as of the end of December 2000) that Bill Morgan accept responsibility for his actions and take appropriate action regarding this matter:
All forty-nine (49) times Bill Morgan has refused to accept responsibility for his actions or to do the right thing.
- Substantiate each and every one of his accusations by presenting the message in which I had said or done what he accuses me of, or
- For each and every accusation present us with a sufficient description of the offending message for us to be able to identify that message in the transcript (eg, for the "very nasty names" accusation, tell us what some of those "very nasty names" were), or
- For each and every accusation admit to us that he had just made the whole thing up and apologize profusely for his misdeeds.
- And whatever else he does, Bill Morgan must explain to us honestly why he had worked so hard to block resolution of this matter and he must apologize sincerely for his misdeeds.
- Bill repeatedly dodges the issue of his false accusations and has tried to turn this into a different issue, such as conflicting religious or world views. His attempts are nothing but "rabbit-trailing" (see below), which is inherently dishonest.
Bill Morgan is a local creation science activist with whom I have been trying to conduct an email correspondence since 1996 (interrupted from August 1998 to July 2000 by his sudden cyber-flight). Throughout my dealings with him, Bill has always been very evasive. He would constantly employ a variety of tricks to avoid discussion of his claims and simple direct questions that I have asked him (see my "BILL MORGAN, "Mr. 100%" page for more information and to learn of his utterly false claim that he had answered every one of my questions and that I hadn't answered any of his -- actual score at that time was Bill's 12.6% to my 92%, but Bill's score has fallen considerably since then).Most of the time, Bill's tricks were forms of his "rabbit trails", a practice which he officially warns against yet practices all the time. In "rabbit-trailing", one tries to avoid the issue/question at hand by drawing you off from it with some kind of diversion which will hopefully either make you forget the original issue/question or else so bog you down in arguing over the diversion you cannot bring the discussion back on track. Bill would usually lay down his "rabbit trails" by asking an "unanswerable question", by making a request/demand that he knows you cannot or will not fill (eg, going to Denny's with him), by babbling nonsensically about things completely off the topic, by bragging about what a great guy he is, or by making false accusations.
It's that last "rabbit trail" trick that is the problem now. Bill had rarely employed it before, but starting in August 2000 Bill Morgan has made several accusations against me.
The Accusations:
This is a list of the accusations that Bill Morgan has made against me. This is a preliminary list and is not complete, as I have not had the time to include the additional accusations in this list yet. Also, as Bill continues to make new accusations, this list continues to grow. I will update it as I can find the time.On another page, I shall list the messages in which Bill Morgan had made his accusations and I shall provide my assessment/analysis of each accusation along with something of the history of the pertinent message exchanges. For the present, I am at least listing the date of the accusation in case you would want to look it up yourself in the transcript.
Please note the use of quote marks. I have used Bill's actual words in creating that list. On a another page that I will add, I will list the actual messages in which Bill had made his accusations, including the date so that anybody could refer to those messages and their context in the transcript.

- [2000 Aug 02] Thinking he is "wacked for beleiving in God".
- [2000 Aug 02] "[P]ersonally insulting [him] on the level of a name calling 2nd grader."
- [2000 Aug 03] "[I]nsulting [his] wife and [him]."
- [2000 Aug 03] That my wife and I had labelled him and his wife as evil.
- [2000 Aug 05] Calling him "very nasty names."
- [2000 Aug 07] That I had told him "what [my] wife thought of those who beleive in Gid".
- [2000 Aug 10] That I would think he and his wife "are evil and wicked, the world's most sinister people".
- [2000 Aug 10] That I refuse to meet him because of his beliefs.
- [2000 Aug 23] That I sent electronically "many nasty words that were anti religious".
- [2000 Oct 05] That I "trashed [his] wife for being Christian and said [I] did not want dinner because of [his] faith."
- [2000 Oct 16] That I "[stretch my imagination] as [I] twist the bible into what ever [I] please."
Please note in Accusation #8 Bill Morgan's typographical misspelling of "God" as "Gid". This led to an incident which demonstrates much about Bill Morgan's character:
Bill Morgan recently noticed the misspelling of "God" as "Gid" and he and his buddy, Bill Bequette, had great fun mocking me for "my" misspelling, stretching their mocking over several messages. When I finally had time to inform both Bills of the true source of that misspelling, they both dropped the subject immediately and completely.Strange that I never received any kind of apology from either of them. As I said, it shows us something about their character.

Those transcripts contain the facts which are pertinent to the issues raised by Bill Morgan's accusations against me. These facts must be examined for us to arrive at the truth of the matter.
Why I believe that Bill Morgan's Accusations are False:
I have stated that these accusations that Bill Morgan has made against me are false. Here are the reasons why I consider these accusations to be false:
- I do not know what actions of mine that Bill is talking about:
- I have no knowledge of ever having done any of the things that Bill accuses me of
- I have not been able to find any message from me that says what Bill accuses me of having said
- For most of the accusations, I really have absolutely no idea where he had gotten it from
- Many of the things he accuses me of go directly against my beliefs and nature and are things that I would never consciously consider doing
- Bill Morgan has consistently refused to substantiate his accusations. Instead, he has:
- merely repeated the accusation without providing any information to identify its source, or
- come up with a new accusation without providing any information to identify its source, or
- claimed the source to be a non-existent message (eg, Bill's insistence that I provide the message in which he invited my wife and me to dine with his wife and him -- that message never existed; the closest I could find was an invitation for my wife and me to dine with him and which made no mention of his wife).
- said that he doesn't save his emails. This excuse is extremely flimsy and has absolutely no bearing on the matter:
- The most important information we need from Bill is what he has based his accusations on. What words does he believe I had used? That information is not contained in any email; rather, we need that information to be able to find the email messages in question. That information is locked away inside of Bill's brain. Only Bill can access it and only Bill can provide it.
- It is not necessary for Bill to have saved my email messages, though it would have been a good idea. I already did that, I made it available to Bill, and I informed him of that fact and of where he could access it (see above). I informed him of it seven times! And then I reposted the text of all seven notifications to Bill again on 30 Oct 2000! There is no way possible that Bill could not have known that I had given him the entire transcript of our correspondence.
Since 21 August 2000, Bill has had the entire transcript of our correspondence and he continued to use this excuse of not saving his email as late as 05 Dec 2000. In my opinion, Bill Morgan's use of this excuse amounts to his telling a deliberate lie.
- I have persistently and consistently sought to determine and examine the facts of and behind the accusations. Bill Morgan has persistently and consistently sought to block our determination and examination of the facts:
- It certainly appears to me that Bill Morgan does not want us to discover nor examine the facts.
- I believe that Bill Morgan knows that his accusations are false -- that he has not based them on the facts -- and that he knows that this will be discovered as soon as the facts are examined.
- I believe that Bill Morgan is purposefully obstructing our investigation in order to prevent us from discovering the truth about his accusations and about his actions in this matter.
- I have been able to determine the source of a few of Bill's accusations [not yet listed above, but I do plan to include them] and found that they were groundless. Bill had based those accusations completely on things that my actual message had not said.
- Many of Bill's accusations are that I had insulted his wife. I know for a fact that I have never said anything derogatory about her. For that matter, having just gone back over the messages, I was not at all able to find any instance of my having said anything at all about Bill's wife, predating his accusations. Then after that the only things I had said about her was that she must be a saint to be able to put up with Bill's conduct (assuming that his conduct at home is the same as on-line) and that the absolutely worst thing I could recall having said about her is that she is human (though later research shows that my memory of that latter point was faulty: I had not mentioned her at all in the statement that I had in mind).
So if I had never even said anything about Bill Morgan's wife, then how could I have possibly insulted her and done all the other terrible things that Bill accuses me of having done to her? Those accusations of Bill's could not possibly have any basis in reality!
- NOTE:
- I have never met Bill Morgan's wife nor have had any kind of communication with her; I have only communicated with Bill via email and web-page postings. Nor was I ever the one to bring her up in discussion (with the possible exception of when I said that she must be a saint); each and every time it was Bill Morgan himself who kept dragging her into the discussion.
Now, it is possible that I am mistaken. If Bill Morgan were to provide us with the information that we need -- ie, enough information to identify which of my messages are the source of his accusations -- then it could be possible that we would find that I had indeed done those things. But Bill Morgan refuses to provide us with that information.
Of course, I do not believe that I have done those things, but if I had then I would certainly want to know about it. I have reviewed the record to the best of my ability and I have found no evidence that I had done anything that Bill Morgan has accused me of. It is therefore up to Bill Morgan to demonstrate to us that I had done what he accuses me of.
Bill Morgan must substantiate and defend his accusations against me. He does have the means and ability to do so. His persistent refusal to do this only serves to condemn him.
There is too much to this issue to cover fully on one page, so I will use other pages to elaborate. They are not yet all written, so I will add them as time permits.Here are the topics that I intend to develop:

- WHY I REFUSE BILL MORGAN'S INVITATIONS TO DENNY'S
- The Denny's issue and my reasons for adamantly refusing Bill's persistent request that we go out for dinner. I have posted this page to explain what that is all about and so I don't have to keep reposting my reasons to Bill over and over again. I have what I believe are very good reasons for refusing and Bill has never offered a single compelling reason for me to accept.
For some strange reason, this seems to be a really hot issue for Bill; he started making his accusations in connection with my refusal to dine with him.
- BILL MORGAN'S CLIPBOARD LESSON
- Instructions for Bill to use the clipboard. This page's primary purpose is as a reference for Bill Morgan, so that I do not have to post it over and over again when Bill feigns ignorance. Its secondary purpose is to demonstrate something about Bill's conduct.
Very shortly after our correspondence began, it became obvious that Bill Morgan was not very experienced with computers and several comments that Bill made indicated that he was not aware of the Clipboard nor the ability to copy and paste blocks of text from one document to another. I made several friendly offers to help him learn about the Clipboard, all of which were either ignored or, once, with a nasty remark. Then four years after I had started making the offer, he nastily snapped that he did indeed know how to use the Clipboard. However, subsequent statements (eg, "Can I paste teh e mail? No.") demonstrated that he had not told the truth and that he still had no clue. So I gave him instructions on how to use the Clipboard and posted them here. Now Bill Morgan has no excuse.
Watch this space.
- I'll put it very bluntly:
- I want people to know what Bill Morgan has done and how he has conducted himself. Then I want them to let Bill know what they think of his actions. I want this in the hope that it will motivate him to cooperate with the resolution of the acrimonious mess that he has created with his false accusations and his blatant attempts to avoid responsibility for his actions.
- I ask that you please read through Bill Morgan's accusations and the associated pages on the issue.
- If you want to check out the information on those pages, then I encourage you to research through the transcript, which is organized by date and can either be viewed on-line as text files or downloaded for off-line viewing as ZIPped text files.
- Then if you have any questions or want to inform us of the opinion that you have formed, then email us. You should address your email to both Bill Morgan and to me. The ultimate purpose of all this is to get this matter resolved, which cannot be served by private email sent only to one party and not the other.
I also ask that you do form your opinion before you express it to us. That is to say that you should not choose sides based solely on which of us is a Christian and a creationist (that would be Bill on both counts, BTW) and which one is neither (myself). As I advised another creationist elsewhere (who avowedly would automatically accept what another Christian would tell him and reject what a non-Christian would say):
Don't just accept something blindly just because it comes from a Christian source; if they don't know what they are talking about, then their theology will not change that fact. Don't just reject something immediately and blindly just because it comes from a non-YEC source; if they know what they are talking about, then their theology will not change that fact.You need to have read through the issue, learn what has happened and what has been done by whom and for what stated reasons. An "opinion" that is not based on the facts of the issue is no opinion at all and is worthless -- another term for it is "blind prejudice". At the risk of being redundant, an opinion must be an informed opinion. I will expect your email to address the issues and I will want to respond in kind. I would hope -- but have been taught by bitter experience not to expect -- that Bill Morgan would also address the issues.

If Bill remains true to form, he will try to pressure you into calling him on the phone or meeting with him in person. I would advise against it, but if you do talk or meet with him, I do ask that you inform me of what happened and what was said in that meeting. This is for the same reason as I stated above.
